The Astric Dry-Bed bedwetting alarm consists of a small, well-designed and sensitive control unit and comfortable detector pad, which is placed over the mattress.

When your child wets the bed and the first drops of wee touch the pad, the alarm will sound.

After being woken up over several nights, your child will either wake up before they do a wee or will learn to sleep through the night without wetting the bed.

The pad should be placed under a draw sheet or towel and can be easily cleaned with soap and water.

Bed mat alarms are very sensitive and can require ongoing adjustments to the sheet that is placed on top of the mat if the temperature and humidity change. Sweaty skin can trigger the alarm. The use of synthetic fabrics can generate static electricity, which may cause the alarm to sound when dry. We recommend that natural fibres such as cotton should be used for all bedding.

Worked for us

I’m please to say this worked really effectively for us. The alarm was loud enough to wake my child, we followed the instructions to the letter and after three nights they have been dry since. I know it’s quite an outlay, but can’t argue with the result so very much worth it in my mind.

My 7 year old is a very deep sleeper and has an over active bladder, struggling not just at night but in the day with her toileting. The first couple of nights she slept through the alarm and wet the bed, by the 3rd night the alarm woke her up half way through her wee, by the 4th night she woke up before doing a wee and went to the toilet. My 10 year old daughter has never been dry and at night and we had exhausted GP options and next step was a blood test and referral to hospital. With a residential trip approaching and lots of unhappy mornings I decided to try this as one last hope - best purchase I have ever made. She was not scared of the alarm and we followed the instructions to the letter. Success within 3 weeks and no looking back - even when she had accidents it was only a few drops and so just needed a quick wipe and back to sleep. She is so proud and planning sleepovers and threw her pull ups in the bin. Honestly cannot recommend enough - we put a pillow case over mat and she was very slightly sweaty but so so worth it

Just what we needed.

My son has just turned 9 and was showing no signs of becoming dry overnight at all. We were forced to address the issue due to a school residential trip, which he didn't want to go on due to the embarrassment of wearing nappy pants. This mat soon sorted the issue, after the first week the alarm was only being triggered once or twice a week. This continued for several weeks but I'm pleased to say he has now gone 3 weeks without any overnight wetting. I would definitely recommend this product, it is pricey in my opinion but well worth it.
